Dr. Hazzard was born and raised in Akron, OH.
She served her country in the United States Coast
Guard as an active duty member and reservist stationed
in Ocean City, MD. While serving the military on the
Eastern Shore, she became quite fond of the area and
decided to call the shore “home”.
Brittany attended Salisbury State University and earned
her Bachelors of Science in Biology and Chemistry.
While attending Salisbury University, she worked as a
veterinary assistant under the guidance of Dr. John Eagling
with Ocean City Animal Hospital. As fate would have it,
while working towards her Bachelors degree, she also
volunteered one summer at the Cokesbury Equine Clinic
under the command of future long time friends and mentors,
Dr's. Max Sponsellor and Joe Woodhead.
Dr. Hazzard is a 2002 Ross University (St. Kitts, WI)
graduate of veterinary medicine. Dr. Hazzard returned to
Ohio as an intern with Dr. Scott Shell who owns and
operates a busy mobile equine racing practice primarily
based at Thistledown and Northfield Parks in Cleveland.
This high performance experience gave Dr. Hazzard the
confidence to follow in the respectable footsteps of
Dr's. Woodhead and Sponsellor, who decided to retire after
75 plus years of combined veterinary service.
Brittany has been practicing owner with the Cokesbury
Equine Clinic since January of 2004.
Brittany enjoys many types of equine recreation, including
endurance riding, competitive trail and foxhunting.
She also enjoys spending time with friends and family
when her busy schedule permits.

As the first person of contact here at Cokesbury, I strive to provide you with a warm friendly welcome and the best service I can provide in directing you through our clinic and it's services. Working at Cokesbury Equine has given me a new love for horses as well as for the medical field and I have met many interesting and friendly people along the way.
I am a graduate of Milford High School and have a BA in Psychology from Houghton College. I have been a secretary for 23 years. Before coming to work at Cokesbury in April 2006, I lived in Western NY and Western PA for 13 years. I have a wonderful husband and 3 beautiful children. |
